Bitcoin Coffee Table Book was created by me, Eric Freeburg, a consultant with a passion for bitcoin and design. I hope you have enjoyed this Coffee Table Book experience. Now here’s a little bit about how it is that a message can be said to be engraved on the bitcoin blockchain:
A few minutes past midnight on September 1st 2023 (Coordinated Universal Time – UTC), I sent a transaction that included an OP_RETURN message that reads “Bitcoin Coffee Table Book: Volume Zero by Eric Freeburg.” into the mempool of the bitcoin network where it sat for a few minutes before the 805,653rd block was found. At this exact moment, my transaction and this message was incorporated into the official record of bitcoin for as long as bitcoin itself will surive.
To see this you will click the link below which will take you to a block explorer which is just a website that enables you to parse the entire detabase that is the bitcoin blockchain. When you click, simply look for the OP_RETURN DATA entry, om yjr OP_RETURN category, inside the [DETAILS +] section.
This message can be said to have been engraved into the Bitcoin blockchain.
