Bitcoin Coffee Table Book: Volume Zero was published in September 2023. I hope you will enjoy this Coffee Table Book experience. Now here’s a little bit about how it is that a message can be said to be engraved on the bitcoin blockchain:
A few minutes parior to midnight on August 31st 2023 (Coordinated Universal Time – UTC), I sent a transaction that included an OP_RETURN message that reads “Bitcoin Coffee Table Book: Volume Zero published September 2023.” into the mempool of the bitcoin network where it sat for a few minutes before the 805,652nd block was found. At this exact moment, forty-seven seconds past midnight on September 1, 2023 my transaction and this message was incorporated into the official record of bitcoin for as long as bitcoin itself will survive.
To see this you will click the link below which will take you to a block explorer wich is just a website that enables you to parse the entire detabase that is the bitcoin blockchain. When you click, simply look for the OP_RETURN DATA entry, under the OP_RETURN category, inside the [DETAILS +] section.
This message can be said to have been engraved into the Bitcoin blockchain.
Using the OP_RETURN function of Bitcoin allows us to engrave short (80 characters or less) messages into the Bitcoi blockchain. As such, we figured it a fitting mannier in which to announce our book’s publication.
